2nd Annual Grand Marais Superior Pines Disc Golf Tournament

Superior Pines Second Annual Disc Golf Tournament, August 16, 2025
Burt Township School Forest, Grand Marais, Michigan

About the Course:

The Burt Township, Alger County school system built the course in 2011 as a student project on property owned by the school. The course consists of 18 holes with long, scenic tees totaling 5,008 ft in length and a par 58. Last year was the second year for the tournament with 8 participants so there is plenty of room for many more. Last years tournament broke even and this year it is hoped some revenue will be going back to the school. We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing you in August.

Course Directions from Downtown Grand Marais:

From the big black anchor along the bay in downtown Grand Marais, proceed east 3.9 miles on paved H58 to the School Forest dirt road on your left, turn left and go 0.5 miles north to Superior Pines dirt road on your left. Note, if you drove to the Sucker River and bridge, you’ve gone too far by about 300 feet. Turn left on Superior Pines and look for parking along this road. Optional Ace Pool:

$5.00 ace pool contest per participant on any of the 18 holes in both rounds. Payout is 80% of the participation fees to the winner and the school receives the balance of 20%. If a tie, then payout is still 50% to the school and the tied participants equally split the remaining 50%.

Optional Putting Contest:

$2.00 putting contest per participant after the tournament is over. Three chances to make a put from each station on hole 19 or be eliminated (if you miss all 3 chances at the current station, you’re out). During the tie-breaker, the players will alternate single throws until the winners put is made in the fewest attempts. Order of throw will be determined by the pick of the draw. Payout then is 100% of the participation fees to the school and the winner gets a custom, dyed MVP disc from UP Disc Golf. There will not be any ties in this competition
