Grand Marais Public School in the early 1900s.  The lettering
on the photo states:
Public School of Grand Marais, Mich.
Cost of building $15,000, Yearly Maintenance $12,000
Twelve Teachers and Superintendent, Average Attendance 400.

There is still a K-12 public school in Grand Marais, but now it is
called Burt Township School.  Information about the school
