Old Post Office Museum - The fascinating history of Grand Marais is on display, from the earliest peoples to the present day. A beautiful memorial rose garden is at the rear of the museum overlooking the water. On Lake Avenue. Pickle Barrel House Museum - Possibly Michigan's most unique house! This 16-foot high barrel has been restored to its condition as a cottage, built for author/illustrator William Donahey who created the famout Teenie Weenie characters. A display garden of historic irises is located on the grounds. Owner: Grand Marais Historical Society -Open 1:00 to 4:00 daily, July - August, and 1-4pm weekends in June and September.
