Grand Marais has a number of clubs and organizations, all of whom welcome new members. If you need information not listed here, please contact us and we’ll put you in touch with the right person.

Grand Marais Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 at the Community Center. Our Chamber is made up of local business owners and interested individuals who want to promote Grand Marais. The Chamber sponsors many of the major events during the year, including the annual Fishing Tournament, Music and Arts Festival, Fourth of July Celebration, Cabin Fever weekend, and more. Grand Marais Historical Society

The Grand Marais Historical Society operates three museum in Grand Marais: the Old Post Office Museum, which showcases the rich history of the area; the Pickle Barrel House Museum, former residence of author-illustrator William Donahey; and the Lightkeeper’s House Museum, which is the restored 1908 home of the Grand Marais lightkeepers. The Historical Society also maintains two public gardens, the Pickle Barrel Historic Iris Garden and the Old Post Office Memorial Rose Garden, and the Promenade Through the Past historic walking tour. Meetings are held monthly in the summer; anyone interested is invited to attend. Visit their Facebook page for additional information.

Grand Marais Sno-Trails

Home of “Da Crazy 8s”, so named because the Sno-Trails Club maintains our snowmobile trails: Trail # 8, Trail # 88, and Trail # 888. Snowmobiling is an important activity to the economy of the town, and the Sno-Trails club operates three groomers that keep our trails in top condition. They also brush (clear) the trails in the fall, and put up/take down the trail signs. New members are always welcome! Visit their Facebook page for more information.

Grand Marais Sportsman’s Club

The Sportsman’s Club meets at 7pm, the first Wednesday of the month at the Community Center. All are welcome.

Grand Marais Womens Club

The Women’s Club is one of the oldest organizations in Grand Marais. They sponsor a number of events in town, including the annual Volunteer Dinner, Community Christmas Celebration, Holiday Bazaar, Hunter’s Dinner, and more. They also provide scholarships to area students and promote town beautification projects. The Women’s Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 at the Community Center. New members are always welcome.

AA Meeting

The group meets at 1:00pm every Sunday in the basement meeting room of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Anyone is welcome.

Community Choir

March – May and September – December. The choir meets Mondays from 6:00 – 7:15pm at the United Methodist Church. Come sing with the Choir!

Food Pantry

The food pantry is located at the First Lutheran Church and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 – 5:00pm for anyone who might need it.

Burt Township Library

Open Monday, noon – 4pm; Wednesday, 2pm – 6pm; Friday, 11am – 3pm. Wi-Fi available.
