Biking

Biking in Grand Marais: Where Five Cars is Heavy Traffic

With our quiet roads and lack of traffic, Grand Marais and the surrounding countryside are perfect places for a leisurely bike ride. To the west, biking is allowed on H-58 in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Take a ride out to Sable Lake or the Log Slide. To the east, H-58 winds along near the shore of Lake Superior, inviting you to visit the Blind Sucker Flooding in Lake Superior State Forest. This area is prime habitat for waterfowl. Bring your binoculars! You’ll also find several campgrounds and picnic areas.

Or take the back roads and see where they lead. Biking is also allowed on all passable roads in Lake Superior State Forest.

Ride safe! Please wear a helmet.

Shuttle service for backpakers, hikers, bikers, canoeists, and kayakers in the Eastern Upper Peninsula!

Trailspotters of Michigan has shuttle service available for bikers who need a lift.
