Grand Sable Lake

Grand Sable Lake, jewel of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, offers year-round enjoyment.  Fishing is permitted year-round; in the warmer months, boaters and canoeists enjoy its beauty.  A boat ramp is located not far from county road H-58, and a public swimming area can be found across from the visitors center at the eastern end of the park.  The lake is shown here viewed toward the north and Grand Sable Dunes.

Sable Falls

Located just off county road H-58, two miles west of Grand Marais, Sable Falls is one of the showpieces of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.  The falls carry water from Sable Lake through a steep ravine to the shore of Lake Superior.  From the parking area, a series of steps leads down to the falls.  A pathway at the bottom of the falls follows Sable Creek out to Lake Superior.  Restrooms are available at the parking area.
